1. Agreement
Aethelgard is a product of Aethelgard Finance Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 17173295) ("we", "us", "our").
By downloading, installing, or using Aethelgard ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
2. License grant
Subject to your purchase of a valid license and compliance with these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal license to install and use the Software on devices you own or control.
- Annual license: Valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Renews annually if you purchase a new license.
- Lifetime license: Valid in perpetuity with no further payments required.
Your license key is personal to you and may not be shared, sold, or transferred to another person or organisation.
3. Permitted use
You may use the Software for personal and professional financial record-keeping. You may install the Software on multiple devices that you personally own and control under a single license.
4. Restrictions
You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
- Redistribute, sublicense, rent, or lend the Software to third parties
- Use the Software to provide services to third parties on a commercial bureau basis
- Remove or alter any copyright notices or license validation mechanisms
5. Trial period
The Software includes a 30-day free trial providing full Corporate-tier access from the date of first installation, with no credit card required. After the trial period, the Software reverts to Personal-tier functionality unless a license is activated.
6. Updates
We may release updates, bug fixes, and new features from time to time. Updates are provided at our discretion. We do not guarantee any specific update schedule or the addition of specific features.
7. Your data
The Software stores all data locally on your device. You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your data. We are not liable for any data loss resulting from hardware failure, software error, or any other cause.
8. No financial advice
Aethelgard is a record-keeping and financial management tool. Nothing in the Software or on this website constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Software and any decisions made based on information within it comply with applicable laws and regulations.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Software shall not exceed the amount you paid for your current license. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.
11. Termination
We may terminate your license immediately if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Software. Termination does not entitle you to a refund except as provided in our Refund Policy.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
